Equity Screener
JCPS recognizes the critical role of equity-minded leaders at all levels. To support this, we've implemented an equity screener for principal position applicants and other leadership position applicants (Grade 9 or higher) within the district. This screener, which is based on our JCPS Equity Dispositions, helps us:
Identify and develop equity-centered leaders: By assessing applicants' strengths and areas for growth in equity-centered leadership.
Define and operationalize our equity expectations: The screener clearly outlines the desired equity-related dispositions for all JCPS leaders.
Advance the Racial Equity Pillar: The screener directly supports the district's commitment to racial equity through the identification and development of leaders who embody and promote equitable practices.
“Equity can never become a reality in education if it’s viewed as charity instead of professional obligation.” —Dr. Anthony Muhammad (educator and author)
