Satterly joins JCPS after over a decade leading IT at Bellarmine University

Dec. 13, 2023—Eric Satterly has been named Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). A Louisville Male High School graduate, Satterly is excited to bring his energy and ideas to the District. 

"I love the transformative nature of education, and through that lens, I have come to deeply value institutions that seek to improve the human condition through education," Satterly said. "I look forward to collaborating with the dedicated professionals at JCPS to elevate the technological landscape in order to contribute to students' success throughout the district."

Satterly has been the chief information officer with Bellarmine University and started with the university in 2012. During his tenure he led significant technical transformation and modernization efforts focused on supporting the university’s strategic plans. Before his role at Bellarmine, Satterly was the CIO at PBI Bank. 

At JCPS, Satterly will lead the District in advancing its technological infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of innovative solutions to enhance educational experiences for students, educators, and administrators.

We are confident that under his leadership, JCPS will continue to thrive in the digital age," said Dr. Marty Pollio, JCPS superintendent. 

Satterly received his bachelor's degree in engineering science and a master's in electrical engineering from the University of Louisville. His first day at JCPS will be January 11.
