Winter weather has not been a friend to Jefferson County Schools' efforts to remain open. While the Jefferson County Board of Education voted to forgive five snow days when students were not in school, that still left one snow day that required a make up date. At its February 25th meeting, the board approved the addition of Friday, May 23rd to the school calendar. Assuming there are no more snow days and the district doesn't exceed its 10 allotted NTI days, the final day of school for students will be May 23rd.
The board also approved the graduation schedule for all JCPS high schools with ceremonies beginning on Friday, May 23rd and wrapping up on Wednesday, May 28th. Some of JCPS' special schools are having celebrations for their seniors as well. A full schedule of graduation ceremonies and the celebrations can be found here.
