Sixteen people stand on a stage. Some hold STLP plaques.

Two Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) came away from the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) State Championship as project champions last weekend. Kammerer captured the middle school division while Fairdale won the high school division. Sixty-seven JCPS schools presented projects with dozens of winners across multiple competition categories.

“These achievements underscore JCPS's leadership in innovation, fostering student creativity and technical skills district-wide,” said Russ Hockenbury, IT specialist and one of the organizers of JCPS’ STLP programming. “Congratulations to all participants for their impressive accomplishments.”

The STLP competition was held in Lexington and is the technology equivalent of the Sweet Sixteen in basketball.
